Stevie Wonder
Stevland Morris (ne Judkins, May 13, 1950) is better known as Stevie Wonder is an American artist and singer. He is often recognized as pioneers in a range of genres, including blues and rhythm and gospel, jazz, soul gospel and funk. A virtual one-man band, Wonder's use of synthesizers and other electronic instruments in the 1970s changed the rules of R&B. The musician also contributed to bringing these styles into the album era, crafting his LPs as unison and consistent, and also making socially conscious statements with complex compositions. Blind since the day of the birth of his son, Wonder was a child prodigy. He signed with Motown's Tamla label at the age of 11 at which point he was given the professional title Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's success on the critical scene was at its highest during the 1970s. His "classic period", beginning in 1972 it was when he released Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition" One of the most well-known and distinctive sounding sounds made by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. The albums Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness"First Finale (1974) as well as Songs in the Key of Life (1976) all were awarded the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. This makes him the tied-record holder for the most Album of the Year wins, with three. Wonder is the only artist to have won the award for three consecutive albums. Wonder started his "commercial period" in the 1980s. Wonder had his greatest songs and the highest levels of fame. He had also seen an increase in sales of albums, charitable participation and high-profile collaborations
