AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as the captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division in professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained the US women's national soccer team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and provide 20 assists within the same calendar year . she became the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
